Fresh Prince: A Change in Pop Culture

The Prince of Bel-Air not only gave Will Smith a show centered on him, it also gave America a taste of nineties life from the prospective of the wealthy and not so wealthy. Will Smith, coming from the tough city of Philadelphia and disrupts the structured life of his aunt and her family the Banks'. He brings his baggy clothes, wild hair and crazy swagger that no one in the Banks household had ever seen before. In the eyes of "Uncle Phil" Will has come and destroyed everything that he had planned specifically speaking, to his daughter Ashley who is eleven years of age at the time of his arrival. He teachers Hilary, Carlton, Ashley and even Uncle Phil the ways of his old neighborhood for a twisted sequence of events along the journey. A number of celebrities are also brought on the journey with notables such as Donald Trump, Jay Leno, Oprah Winfrey, Regis Philbin, and my personal favorite Nia Long. These guest stars do a number of things whether they were dating Will, friends of one of the original casts, or spicing up the show it was a great addition each time and created an unpredictable atmosphere to its audience.
